Alex O’Brien-Dukes
As a Therapist
Alex is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who prioritizes seeing the client as the expert in their own lives. As a queer person, Alex knows how difficult safe spaces can be to find, so they prioritize creating a safe space for you to feel comfortable to process life’s difficulties. She will help you find the right tools for you to help regain control in your life and continue on your journey with grace and self-assurance.
As a Person
Alex’s passions include, but are not limited to, spending time with loved ones, experiencing nature, and consuming a hearty amount of caffeine. Outside of work, Alex focuses on balancing rest with nurturing their hobbies. She is often found baking for their friends, exploring the world of Tarot/oracle cards, and doing photography for friends’ weddings and local bands.
As a Professional
Alex has worked in a multitude of settings, including a transitional support service for those in recovery for substance addiction, a day treatment center, a methadone clinic, and other outpatient therapy programs where she developed her passion for individual counseling.
As a Student
In 2018, Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Counseling & Health from Boston’s Emmanuel College while also minoring in Photography.
In 2020, Alex earned their Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University where she also helped operate the university’s food pantry.
